Compatible Models:

• STIHL MS 261, MS 261 C, MS 261 C-M (Version 3.0 or newer only)

• Note: Not compatible with M-Tronic Version 2.0 or older. Earlier M-Tronic systems may not support this modification due to limited fuel adjustment capabilities. Carbureted models are fully compatible.

How to Check Your M-Tronic Version:

Saws with Version 3.0 or newer typically have a manufacture date of 2019 or later. Alternatively, you can check the control unit part number or consult an authorized STIHL dealer.

Exhaust Outlet Direction (Bar-Side or Starter-Side):

• Bar-side: The exhaust outlet faces the guide bar.

• Starter-side: The exhaust outlet faces the pull-start side.

• This is strictly a matter of operator preference and does not affect performance.
